ABSTRACT
In the modern world, with the availability of several tools for video acquisition and tampering such as zooming, blurring, sharpening, etc., it is very difficult to rely on any image or video evidence, as they can be altered very easily. The originality of the digital evidences comes up with a question mark as crime these days crosses all the borders and barriers. It also gives rise to the need for verifying the originality of a video obtained from several sources like CCTV, internet, or digital signal TV broadcaster. Nowadays, researchers are trying to cope with these problems by working on the video’s history and its processing that is being investigated and are verifying its originality also. These techniques show us the path by following the footprints left by reconstructed signals or from irreversible changes in a video. This review paper puts a light on survey of state-of-the-art techniques of video forensics which tell us about data acquisition, compression, editing, etc. The performance comparison of several existing methods proposed by researchers in video forensics is also discussed.
