ABSTRACT
Your work as an assessor may lead to involvement in legal proceedings. I have testified before on an Administrative Law Court and have been deposed for two cases that were settled out of court. Some of my colleagues have spent much of their careers testifying on behalf of employers or clients—it can be a lucrative form of consultancy. You may testify in either or both of two roles. You may be a technical expert witness, or you may be a lay witness – —both of which are explained in this chapter.
