ABSTRACT

The importance of sustainability is key in the long-term industrial impact of Andalusia, and that is why it is detected as one of the strengths of the University of Seville research groups, reflected in their collaboration with the private sector and the impact they all make in the sector to achieve excellence. The chapter discusses the design of new wireless sensors for intelligent systems in the construction and transport sector that guarantee sustainable operations. To do this, a unified information storage system that applies Artificial Intelligence techniques is considered, by increasing its efficiency and productivity. Finally, quantitative improvements in intelligent predictive maintenance applied to rail transport are put forward. A condition-based maintenance process is designed, which facilitates the integration of historical data, translating it into the aid of dynamic maintenance decision-making, particularized in the train axes.
