ABSTRACT
This chapter presents the course and results of the pilot studies of the prototype multi-spiked connecting scaffold (MSC-Scaffold) for entirely non-cemented resurfacing arthroplasty endoprostheses in an animal model (swine). These studies included the experimental determination of an appropriate surgical approach to the hip and knee joints in swine and the verification of ten experimental animals of a working prototype of partial resurfacing knee arthroplasty endoprosthesis implanted in the periarticular bone via the MSC-Scaffold prototype.
