ABSTRACT

As time transforms, hotels that initially provided only lodging facilities continue to innovate and now start to provide many other supporting facilities. Also, today's hotels have different target markets of young millennials who have up-to-date taste that is commonly known in design language as contemporary. In addition, young millennials also like things with artistic value. Many artistic works can be found today, such as mural which is a wall painting and can be done both manually and digitally. By taking the advantage of millennial youth phenomenon's tastes, it is an opportunity for hotels to apply this theme concept in their interior designs, especially those that are having young people as their main target. This study aims to examine the application of contemporary artistic themes in one of the hotels that have young millennials as their target market, named Aloft Hotels, which is located in Central Jakarta.
