ABSTRACT
In Heino Engel's book, one type of active form structure is the shell structure. The shell structure construction is composed of curve formations that have different axes. This type of structure is very flexible, but the design process is very dependent on the typing material, generally in the form of sheets or planar. On the other hand, the shell design process is quite complicated because it is very dependent on the simulation process of scale models or structural calculations. This paper explains how digital tectonics can accommodate students in their design process to a digital fabrication process and facilitates them to make simulations at accurate scale. The research method used was an experiment with object modeling process solutions using paraametric design that was simulated in design software.
