ABSTRACT
Geotextiles and geotextile-related products are used in several applications in landfills, particularly for drainage, filtration and reinforcement functions. This paper describes the bottom and side slope applications of waste storage cells as well as capping applications including veneer soil gripping over the slopes. Needed design parameters, to be defined with the project owner, are listed to help designers. Specifications are given to help in establishing relevant requirements in the tender phase. The described specification and product approval processes are based as much as possible on design values to promote competition, product-specific reduction coefficients making the link with characteristic values of the performances. The manuscript provides as well details on test conditions which have to be taken care of by the tender officer.
