ABSTRACT
This is an introduction to the topic of sustainable energy pathways to net zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050. There is a need to greatly increase the generation of electricity using solar and wind energy so that almost all electricity is generated without emissions of carbon dioxide. All electricity generated with wind and solar needs to be used effectively or stored in batteries. The electrification of transportation is a very important topic in this book. Reducing greenhouse gas emissions associated with buildings is also included in this book. Humans make decisions, and these decisions are very important in developing good pathways to net zero.
