ABSTRACT

There has been great progress in reducing the prices of electricity generated by solar and wind. The cost of batteries has decreased as well. In many countries, incentives have been provided to encourage the transition to renewable energy and electric vehicles. In 2024, there were some price reductions in the cost of battery electric vehicles. The global costs of disasters associated with climate change have been increasing. There are taxes on carbon dioxide in some countries to encourage the transition toward net zero. The United States government has developed goals as part of the Federal Sustainability Plan to transition to carbon-free electricity by 2030.
