ABSTRACT
There has been great progress in the electrification of transportation. Those who use electric bicycles or electric cars for local daily travel have had many good experiences. There has been good progress in electric bus transportation in cities and for school buses. Electric vehicles are much more efficient compared to gasoline-powered cars and trucks. One of the recent developments is inexpensive battery electric automobiles. Another development is demand management which makes use of the smart grid to charge electric vehicles when demand needs to be increased to make use of all of the renewable electricity that is being produced.
