This chapter offers an in-depth exploration to the captivating world of air show performance, employing a 5W approach (who, where, what, why, and when) to stress the significance of safety, risk management, and psychological aspects in this field's evolution. It serves as a comprehensive resource detailing the challenges and opportunities that air show performances present. We delve into the diversity and evolution of performers, various show venues, the progression of safety protocols, and the role of human error in incidents. Moreover, we underscore the necessity to learn from past disasters to prevent future occurrences. This chapter also provides a historical timeline, outlining key milestones and influencers that have shaped the course of air show history.
