ABSTRACT

Contemporary innovations in the public transportation are at the heart of transformation and increasing opportunities globally. This has led to an increased investment in alternative energy sources such as e-mobility. Despite the immense benefit of the adoption and implementation of e-mobility are low. The study utilizes web of science to conduct bibliometric literature review on electric vehicles. 578 articles were included in the analysis. The findings reveal China, the European Union and the United States have the largest number of publications. The review of literature reveals several key findings and implications to inform deployment of e-mobility in Africa namely the development of a robust charging infrastructure is a critical factor in facilitating widespread electrical vehicle adoption. The study recommends that the government should develop policies and incentives to facilitate the transition to e-mobility.
