ABSTRACT
While all charged particles emit electro-magnetic radiation, only electrons and positrons do so in appreciable quantities, because the emitted power is inversely proportional to the fourth power of the mass of the particles. Therefore, it is strongly suppressed for heavier particles, although LHC is an exception we will discuss in Section 14.1. As a consequence, in this chapter, we will focus on electrons.
