ABSTRACT

This contribution presents an overview of the GPR technique applied to bridge inspection, covering all the information that can be detected from both structural (layering, cover depth, etc.) and diagnosis (cracking, voids, corrosion, etc.) points of view. The use of Artificial Intelligence on GPR data will be also addressed, such as the use of Deep Learning methods to extract rebars or distresses like cracks or delamination. Moreover, data digitalization will be considered, with a special attention on GPR data formats to be integrated into GIS and BIM models, and other digital innovations like augmented reality and digital twins. Finally, a review of other non-destructive emerging methods commonly used with the GPR technique will be considered.
