ABSTRACT
In this paper, a maintenance plan optimization system (MPOS) which is a subsystem of the Japanese Bridge Management System(J-BMS) is described based on the results of remaining life prediction of the existing bridges. The proposed system that considered not only remaining life cycle cost (RLCC) but also rebuild cost stabilization is applied to existing bridge data on about 3,500 bridges that collected in J-BMS database (J-BMS DB) for practical use. Then, it is found that the system helps the efficiency of bridge engineers related to bridge management understand easily what are the major processes in the deteriorating bridges in the future, how to improve their performance, and what kind of repair/strengthening works is most convenient for the deteriorating bridges.
