ABSTRACT
To cope with the increasing number of aging infrastructures, an efficient inspection system is required. This study aims to create and apply a digital twin model to track the mechanical behavior of bridges and simulate the progression of deterioration. A finite element analysis model was created using “Marc” for a standard-size road bridge. Loads were applied to the entire deck slab to observe the deformation of the entire bridge. In addition, several cases were set up in which a portion of the bearings were subjected to corrosion deterioration, and the mechanical response was compared with that of the healthy case. As a result, the vertical displacement of the girder and the stress distribution at the girder ends were reproduced. The differences in behavior between the sound and corroded cases were also observed.
