ABSTRACT

Recent of years, lithium-ion battery(LIBs) products are widely used, and LIBs have become the main choice of power supply for energy storage systems. With the development of marine aids to navigation(AtoN) technology,The Lead-acid batteries, which provide power for AtoN, are gradually being replaced by LIBs. At the meantime, some problems with the use of LIBs are also gradually emerging, after repeated charge and discharge of the battery, the active material of the internal electrode and the stock of lithium-ion continue to consume and lose, resulting in the decline of its capacity, charging and discharging power and other performance, the battery will gradually aging. Finally, it will affect the efficiency of the AtoN. This will have a significant impact on the safety of ship navigation in the channel and near shore at night. For the AtoN which work at sea, almost all power are provided by LIBs. So, it is very necessary to detect the health state of the battery. State of health(SOH)is the embodiment of the healthy life of the battery, It can display the battery's charge, energy, charging and discharging power and other states.SOH is the basis for estimating the performance time of AtoN. It is also an important parameter to assist the correction and improve the accuracy of state of charge estimation. At the same time, it is the basis of predictive maintenance. The internal resistance of the battery increases after aging, which will produce more heat and cause thermal runaway more easily. Therefore, monitoring the SOH can not only fully understand the current status of the battery, to provide data support for future research on improving the stability and life of energy storage systems, but also have greater help to the planned maintenance of the AtoN in the jurisdiction. It can reduce thefrequency of maintenance at sea, avoid the waste of manpower and material resources, save unnecessary expenses and so on. This article analyzes and discusses the feasibility and specific practices applies SOH on the batteries of AtoN.
