ABSTRACT
Objective the research is to see an increase the number of fibroblasts traumatic ulcer in wistar rat with the administration of betel leaf extract. Method the research used true experiments in vivo. The research is categorized into 6 groups, 3 group with treatment and 3 group control. Samples used were divided into treatment groups by 45% betel leaf extract gel and control groups. Data was taken by observing the number of fibroblasts in tissue excision biopsy preparations with hematoxylin and eosin staining. Statistical analysis was performed using the Mann-Whitney test, with a significance level determined at p<0.05. Results showed Group P3=34,8 P5= 35,6 and P7=44 and group K3=12,4 K5=21 K7=26,4. Conclusion: Research showed the administration of gel leaf extract 45% can increase the number of fibroblasts compared to CMC.
