ABSTRACT

This study provides an in-depth analysis of the contributions of Islamic Micro-finance Institutions (IMiF) to women's empowerment in alignment with the objectives of the Sus-tainable Development Goals (SDGs). A literature review methodology was employed, utilising tools such as Publish or Perish for retrieving articles from the Scopus database, Mendeley for updating and organising references, and VOSviewer for data visualisation. A total of 76 reputable research articles were selected and synthesised based on empirical studies conducted across mul-tiple countries. The findings reveal that IMiF institutions play a significant role in promoting women's empowerment and advancing SDG objectives. These contributions include providing financial support for women-owned small and medium enterprises (SMEs), improving access to mortgage loans, education, and healthcare funding, and actively contributing to poverty allevia-tion and gender equality. By addressing economic and social barriers, IMiF institutions empower women to become active participants in their communities and foster long-term sustainable de-velopment outcomes.
