ABSTRACT
This research explores the interrelationship between vocational education and sustainability with special emphasis on how the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 shapes career development with respect to the environment. Skilled professionals who can make a substantial impact in diverse sectors on sustainable practices are critically required with a global focus on doing something about the environmental issues. The NEP 2020, which is part of the holistic education reforms put forth by the Government of India, has served as a very useful transformational instrument which ensures the inclusion of environmental consciousness and responsibility within vocational education effortlessly along with means and methods for its implementation. This study proves that after all the strategies and policies for integration of sustainability in vocational education it still needs immediate attention for achieving the goal.
