ABSTRACT
Since the Mac is such a popular tool among hackers and the younger, hipper generation. One reason Macs are much more widely used than they used to be is the fact that the newer ones run on Intel-based platforms. With OS X, everything changed for Mac. They began a new UNIX-based operating system, some say based on Free BSD. In order to prevent people from either using the boot DVD to reset the reader password or imaging the reader Mac with a live CD and reading reader data, encryption software like File Vault or True Crypt can be utilized. True Crypt will protect more of the data on the drive since File Vault only encrypts a user's Home folder. File Vault is easier to implement because it is part of the Mac OS X operating system.
