ABSTRACT
The protection of nature from anthropogenic pressures is a particularly difficult problem because it reflects the multiple dimensions of the interaction between natural and social systems. Natural ecosystems and the landscape as well as all kinds of human activities that disturb them present a great complexity. The protection of biodiversity and the natural landscape encounters social difficulties and needs social approaches. Biodiversity conservation means species conservation complemented by conservation of other ecological elements such as sub-species, genetic variety, ecosystem variety etc. 0Effective biodiversity protection would require integrated management of the entire biosphere. The presence of biodiversity has an unequal geographic distribution and is strongly affected by the development of human activities.
