ABSTRACT
Matrices and their algebraic properties play an ever-increasing role in signal processing. In this chapter we outline the most important of these properties. The notation associated with matrix and vector algebra is designed to reduce the number of things we have to think about as we perform our calculations. This notation can be extended to multi-variable calculus, as we also show in this chapter.
