ABSTRACT
We begin with Fourier series and Fourier transforms, which are essential tools in signal processing. In this chapter we give the formulas for
and complex-give several ex-series to Fourier transforms using Shannon’s Sampling Theorem. We solve a heat-equation problem to illustrate the use of Fourier series while introducing fundamental aspects of inverse problems. We leave to Chapter 26 the more theoretical details regarding Fourier series and Fourier transforms.
