ABSTRACT
Collaboration and participation have always been essential elements of the Global Environment Outlook (GEO) process. This chapter explores how GEO has enabled and evolved a collaborative, participatory approach overtime, along with the various roles that multiple organizations and individuals have played in the process. A network of independent partner institutions from around the world has formed the core of the GEO assessment process from its start. But as the GEO series has progressed, individual experts have taken over a much greater proportion of the analysis and preparation of report contents.
