Periodic mammographic follow-up of probably benign lesions: Results of 3184 consecutive cases

The author studied lesions that had a very low probability of cancer and evaluated the use of shortinterval follow-up, instead of biopsy, for 3184 non-palpable lesions detected by mammography that had a low probability of being breast cancer. With 3-3.5 years of total follow-up, only 17 proved to be malignant (0.5%).
