ABSTRACT
Mobility systems need to change urgently and radically, and in this book, we have traced how they are actually changing and could change for the better. However, our analysis has revealed many obstacles to change, ranging from powerful vested interests to systemic lock-ins. The book has explored reasons for these obstacles and ways to overcome them. In this chapter, we draw together our assessment of where “we”, that is, global humanity in its relational, pluriversal multitude, and interdependence, seem to be headed, and where we could be headed if we – particularly those most responsible, and those with most power – tried harder to think and act differently.
