ABSTRACT

Many teachers only teach their pupils for a relatively short period of time. In some cases this might be as little as one hour per week. High-quality starts also ensure that the pupils are tasked straight away so helping with management of discipline. This time also allows pupils to learn something straight away so improving self-confidence and self-esteem for the rest of the lesson. Lesson ideas taken from virtually all the seven intelligences are best suited here as long as they demand some kind of physical movement. Mostly though these will be found from the kinaesthetic intelligence. There are a number of stages in understanding how memory works. There are a number of ways to improve the quality of the start and end of lessons. A startling beginning to the lesson could be related to an object or item.
