ABSTRACT
In this chapter, we deal with an application of homogeneous systems of linear equations, namely eigenvalue problems. Moreover, we introduce so-called quadratic forms and investigate their sign. Quadratic forms play an important role when determining extreme points and values of functions of several variables, which are discussed in Chapter 11.
