ABSTRACT
Much of the discussion referenced here by Sanyal is concerned with enabling professional planners to fulfill their roles in society by being effective in addressing today’s challenges. It is the premise in this book that planners must change their mindset. Further, they need to work to ensure that the stakeholders and the region’s localities develop mindsets that also are compatible with the new requirements of the global knowledge economy and network society.
