ABSTRACT
The concept of causation plays a central role in many incompatible philoso-
phical theories of nature. The aim of this chapter is to reconstruct the con-
cept of causation without, however, pretending to do justice to the wealth of
aspects the concept has accumulated due to its paramount importance.
