ABSTRACT
This chapter outlines three general reasons against honouring and admiring the immoral. First, that it empowers the wrongdoer in various ways. It argues it can contribute to their financial, epistemic, moral, and affective powers; second, that it harms the victims through disrespecting them, silencing them, and making people complicit in the wrongs of the immoral; and third, that it perpetuates harmful ideologies and wrongdoing. It ends by discussing how these reasons can vary in strength depending on the specifics of certain cases, and on who is doing the honouring and admiring, among other factors.
