ABSTRACT
Building on Chapter 5, 27 cases of ecocultural commoning from the global South are discussed. By embodying futures in current ecocultural experiments, radical incrementalists are able to demonstrate in practice what more sustainable and equitable futures could look like. Because they share a commitment to both social justice and ecological sustainability, they prefigure in practice what a just transition could be on a larger scale. Various kinds of cases are discussed, including established primarily rural settlements, urban alternatives, protracted urban struggles and project-based alternatives.
