ABSTRACT
This chapter introduces readers to the concerns about pesticides, the social science research about pesticide use, and the urban aerial pesticide spraying phenomenon. The chapter also introduces readers to the 2002–2004 PAM spraying operation, articulating why it is such a strategic case to analyze. As well, it articulates the synthetic conceptual framework that was used to analyze this case and provides a chapter-by-chapter overview of this book.
