ABSTRACT

Robots, artificial intelligence and informats are giving rise to such momentous changes that it is difficult to envisage how working life will develop in the future.

The main question we are working with in Chapter 1 is: How does the workplace of the future constitute an aspect of the Fourth Industrial Revolution?

Our purpose is to understand what the workplace of the future will look like.

The findings in Chapter 1 are a typology for the working life of the future. We also develop a typology for the precariat, the uncertain work that is created and a framework for the working poor is developed. The working poor are people who can’t live on one job, but have to have more than one job to survive. We also develop a framework for future innovation and knowledge workers. In summary the findings in Chapter 1 show a new structure for the social hierarchy.
