Introduction

This chapter introduces the book Design for Sustainability: A Multi-level Framework from Products to Socio-technical Systems. It explains how the authors’ joint idea to write about the evolution of the design for sustainability field developed, first into a journal article, then into this book. The chapter presents the themes covered in the book, explains the target audience of the book and presents how the book is structured.
