ABSTRACT
In this chapter the technologies of sexuality are considered over the modern period in three parts. How we systemically manage sexuality took a great step when heterosexual coitus was linked to pregnancy and birth. It took another important step when we unhinged sexual desire from reproduction, which forms the first part of the chapter. This section examines both heterosexual and homosexual liberation movements starting in the 1960s. The second section examines how pressures from later LGBTQ2+ communities have led to an extension of reproductive rights to queer families, but in the face of continual and brutal resistance. The final section examines the significant commercial interest in the management of reproduction and sexuality.
