ABSTRACT

Chapter 7 presents work carried out with four families who had one child participate in the Building Bridges project run by the Science Museum in collaboration with the children's schools. It introduces the families and their identities using illustrative vignettes and it then presents and discusses their everyday practices. These included doing and displaying family, but also family paideia, which emerged from my analysis of the data. Family paideia is co-created and sustained through a range of family activities and it serves as a type of ‘archive’ of the family's moral life.
