ABSTRACT
Chapter 9 moves beyond the analysis to a broader discussion about the political nature of culture and how it supports and reproduces dominantly valued capital which is associated with social organisations like museums. It discusses how the museum can support the cultural wealth of families from nondominant communities not just through exhibitions like the West Indian Front Room but through radically transforming their relation with families by repositioning itself in a space of conviviality.
