ABSTRACT

This chapter by Natalie Braber is about the prospects of community projects for linguists and some of the difficulties they may encounter. It deals with practical issues, shows how to overcome hurdles and gives useful tips. As a linguist, Braber has been involved in numerous community projects during the last 15 years. The information in this chapter relates to her experience in a specific area of linguistics. She describes two projects in detail, but the contents of this chapter can be applied across the entire field.
