ABSTRACT
This chapter is about the challenges of writing what is known as a ‘popular science’ book. ‘Popular’ in this sense refers to work that is intended for the general public, not intellectuals or subject specialists. Jane Setter looks at how her experience of being invited to comment as an expert in various non-academic fora led to her writing Your Voice Speaks Volumes (Oxford University Press, 2019).
