ABSTRACT

Chapter 5 describes ways to accommodate academic library internationalization stakeholders. It begins with a philosophical discussion about immersion, specifically how much libraries should accommodate stakeholders without compromising academic standards. It then turns to the two main themes found in the related literature: the first section deals with accommodation in terms of resources, including content, format of content, and the library building itself; the second addresses personnel, including training that prepares them to accommodate stakeholders, how they provide library instruction, and marketing. The last two sections were inspired by primary research for this book: section three discusses faculty accommodation, with emphasis on international faculty; section four is about internationalization opportunities OER offers, particularly the ways it can benefit students and faculty.
