ABSTRACT
Chapter 2 is devoted entirely to risk management concepts and methods. It deals with the applied dimension of risk management in which the tools that can be used in management practices are of particular importance. The chapter discusses the following issues: (1) the positioning of risk management in enterprise management systems, (2) the embedment of risk in selected management concepts, (3) the professional domains of risk management (such as: business continuity management, enterprise risk management, (4) a review of risk management standards. The content of the chapter helps the reader to understand the place of risk management in enterprise management systems. Furthermore, the reader becomes familiar with risk management as a relatively separate field of management with its own approach, methodology, standards and tools.
