ABSTRACT
Herman Wasserman is Professor and Chair of the Department of Journalism at Stellenbosch University, South Africa, as of January 2023. He serves on the editorial boards of several international scholarly journals and is Editor-in-Chief of African Journalism Studies and the Annals of the International Communication Association. In addition, Wasserman is a Fellow and Board Member of the International Communication Association, former section head of the International Association for Media and Communication Research’s International Communication Section. He is the author of several books and articles. His research centres on issues of media, ethics, democracy and society.
