ABSTRACT
The conclusion recaps and synthesises the key arguments in the book. It aims to highlight the difficulty of finding an image of a mass atrocity that captures its ethnographic, historical, philosophical, and aesthetic dimensions. The conclusion re-affirms the centrality and affordances of names of the dead in this process. It speaks briefly about the unexpected violent dissolution of the archive that began in November 2021.
