ABSTRACT
The conclusion draws my arguments to close by returning to Nelson Mandela and the South African Truth and Reconciliation Commission (TRC). Focusing on Pumla Gobodo-Madikizela’s memoir, A Human Being Died That Night, I discuss how the testimonies at the TRC provide good examples for our understanding of the power of narratives to demonstrate the imbrication of ordinary virtues, human rights, and the common good.
