ABSTRACT
An old adage says we teach what we need to learn. This was true for me with regard to collaboration. I was teaching students to collaborate but had not been collaborating myself. Growing up, what I saw of collaboration was minimal. My parents’ roles were well defined: My father supported the family and my mother cared for home and children. They were not unusual for their generation.
