ABSTRACT

This chapter explores specific OD theories and concepts with accompanying studies and literature in preparation for my journey. There is a focus on reflective practice (Donald Schön, Gillie Bolton, Russell Delderfield), AI and appreciative living (David Cooperrider, Diana Whitney, Jacqueline Kelm), positive organization scholarship (Kim Cameron, Jane Dutton, Robert Quinn), quantum skills (Charlotte Shelton), positive psychology (Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi, Martin Seligman), creativity and flow (Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi), and action research living theory (Jack Whitehead, Jean McNiff). These theories and concepts play a crucial role for a better understanding and exploration of myself in self-discovery. At the same time, I apply certain studies and literature pertinent to my voyage, including non-western concepts such as ikigai (Ken Mogi) and yoga. I also include knowing oneself (Yuval Harari) and meditation (Yuval Harari and Rick Hanson) and tai chi, an art embracing the mind, body, and spirit for health of mind and body. I have packed essential topics, themes, and concepts for my journey, and while my travel bag is full, I know I will yet add more items during my trip.
