ABSTRACT
The conclusion reiterates the book’s main takeaways and contributions. Close, comparative reading of three Jain Rāmāyaṇa narratives reveals that not only do the literary and narrative strategies for moral edification differ among each text, but also that each projects a novel vision of what it means to live a moral life. The conclusion then gestures toward the possibilities of future work on the subject, first, by highlighting the vast number of Jain Rāmāyaṇa narratives that have received little or no scholarly attention and, second, by postulating what new questions may be asked of other genres of Jain narrative literature.
