ABSTRACT

In this final chapter, the main points made in the chapters of the book are summarized and commented on. The first point emphasizes that the object of learning needs to be at the front and center of teaching in planning, enactment, and after the lesson. This is the most central point that the book has tried to convey. Ways forward in the improvement of teaching are discussed at different levels, on the individual teacher level, on the professional collective level, and on a professional knowledge level. The book ends with our vision of a more content-oriented approach to teaching in schools. Following this vision, more attention needs to be paid to the details of teaching, that is, how the object of learning is handled in lessons.
